Lee was born on December 7, 1941, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the son of Russell and Elizabeth (née Conkright) Heffner.

He was united in marriage to Diane (née Goodfellow) Heffner on November 6, 1964, in Williamsport, PA.

Lee is survived by his wife, Diane Heffner of Hannibal, MO; two daughters, Beth Heffner of Boston, MA, and Jenny Brown (Paul) of Hannibal; a brother, Rex Heffner of Millsboro, DE; two grandsons, Hezekiah Brown, and Seth Brown; and a granddaughter, Sadie Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Daniel Heffner and Thomas Heffner; a sister, Mary Brass; and a grandson, Elijah Brown.

Lee was very proud of his service to his country in the United States Marine Corps and in the US Army Reserves.

Lee loved the outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, or helping on a family or neighbor’s farm, simply being outside brought him great joy. He also was a Civil War buff, and an avid reader on many different subjects. He loved watching westerns and enjoyed listening to classic Country and Western music. Lee and Diane saw many of the great country artists live on stage at Bob and Dean McNett’s Radio Corral. Above all, Lee was a family-oriented man who loved deeply and gave of himself selflessly.
