Sissy was born on August 2, 1936 in Hannibal, MO. to Lownie Levi Fuqua and Bessie (Patrick) Fuqua.

Sissy is survived by her son and daughter in law, James (Jamy) and Tammie Branham of Hull, IL. Grandchildren Alex Kaylor (Heather) of Boone, IA., Nikki Otto (Austin) of Shelbina, MO., Jenna Wombles of Hull, IL., and Kyle Branham (Julia) of Denver, CO. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

Sissy was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Bessie Fuqua, her son Gregory Branham, brother and sister in law, Lloyd Fuqua and Judith Littlefield Fuqua Grisham and nephew David Fuqua.

Sissy loved her family and was especially fond of celebrating Christmas. She had gifts for everyone and delighted in having her family at her home to celebrate.

Sissy was married to James (Jack) Branham in 1957 and although this union ended in divorce, she felt blessed with the opportunity to remain close to his family. This includes Greg and Jamy's sisters, Jackie Davison (Rick) of Los Banos, CA and Debbie Gore (Barb) of San Jose, CA. This also includes Jack's siblings who proceeded her in death and their families. She was especially close to sister in law Shirley Williams. They enjoyed many shopping trips and vacations together. There were many 4th of July and Christmas celebrations enjoyed by this entire mixture of family.

Sissy was an excellent seamstress and while an employee of Motorola in Quincy, IL., she won several competitions for creating and sewing doll clothing. She was forever sewing new pillow coverings for anyone that requested her help. She loved peonies and loved when the plants in her yard were producing flowers. She loved her "stories" on TV and enjoyed watching all of the shows from the 70's and 80's. She also loved to dance and was one of the first up to boogie when the music started at Maple Lawn.

Sissy was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She gave selflessly and loved all of her family dearly. Her mother came from a family of 12 children that produced dozens of cousins who she loved to visit with, whether it be on the phone or a family reunion. She attended all of the family reunions she could until her health prevented it.

Sissy was a member of Fifth Street Baptist Church in Hannibal, MO. beginning in childhood. As an adult, she worked in the nursery, caring for the babies for nearly 40 years.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Burditt, Brian Fuqua, Alex Kaylor, Kyle Branham, Austin Otto and Brennon Otto.
