Elizabeth Yochum Obituary

Elizabeth H. Yochum, age 89, of Quincy, IL passed away at 12:58 pm Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Sunset Home, in Quincy.  

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the Columbus Road Baptist Church in Quincy, IL. Pastor Bob Cowman will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. 

A visitation celebrating Elizabeth's life will be held at 9:00 am until 10:00 am Wednesday February 8, 2023 at the Columbus Road Baptist Church. 

Elizabeth was born on July 1, 1933, in Bluefield, West Virginia the son of Herman and Ione (Hughes) Robertson.

She was united in marriage to Billy Gene Yochum in Pascagoula, MS on April 17th, 1954. They met while both of them were serving in the Navy. 

Survivors include; Husband, Billy Gene Yochum of Quincy. Two Sons, Ricky Gene (Terry) Yochum of Starke, FL, Steven Yochum of Quincy, IL; Daughter, Rebecca Ann (Stephen) Cramblit of Springfield, IL; Brother, George Robertson of Roanoke, VA; Sister, Freda Hammonds of Lynchburg, VA; Two Granddaughters, Sarah Mimbs of Greer, SC, Olivia Cramblit of Pine Mountain Club, CA; Grandson, Walker Cramblit of Springfield, IL; Two Great-granddaughters, Shelby Mimbs and Sydney Mimbs; . 

She was preceded in death by Mother and Father, and several brothers and sisters. 

Elizabeth courageously served her country in the Navy.

Elizabeth was a dedicated wife, mother, and Grandmother and was thought of by her family as an amazing homemaker. She was dedicated to her church, Columbus Road Baptist Church, as one of its charter members, and for years taught Sunday school, ran the nursery, and even was a school monitor for a school hosted by the church. The red rose is significant to Elizabeth and Billy Gene. The red rose is an enduring symbol of commitment and devotion, which, strengthened by their shared faith in Jesus, was a foundation of their 68 years together.
