Donald E. Bockes

Donald E Bockes, age 79, of Osceola, IA formerly of Hannibal, MO passed away at 9:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2022, at Southern Hills Specialty Care Center in Osceola, IA.  
 
Graveside services will be held at a future date in the Grand View Burial Park.
 
The family is being served by the Grand View Funeral Home & Burial Park of Hannibal.
 
Donald was born on May 16, 1943, in Cedar Falls, IA the son of Myrle S. and Dorothy Elizabeth (Jones) Bockes.
 
He was united in marriage to Judie Bellamy on July 22, 1972 in Centerville, IA.  She preceded him in death on December 7, 2010.
 
Survivors include a brother, Jerry Bockes (Linda) of Wapello , IA; sisters, Beverly White of Osceola, IA and Marilyn Watts of Hannibal, MO; and several nieces and nephews.  
 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bockes was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Huston, brother, James Myrle Bockes, and two brothers-in-law, J. David White and Robert Huston.
 
Donald honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
 
Donald worked at Monsanto in Muscatine, IA and retired in the late 90's as a Senior Operator.
 
Away from work, Donald enjoyed his HAM Radio, working on cars, muscle cars and worked on his nephews pit crew.  Donald's biggest love was his family and he cherished every moment spent with them.
