Betty L Utterback, age 92, of Perry, MO passed away at 10:38 pm Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Monroe Manor in Paris, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Grand View Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Dexheimer will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.
a visitation celebrating Betty's life will be held at 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday May 10, 2023 at the Grand View Funeral Home.
Betty was born on April 28, 1931, in Trenton, MO, the daughter of Lee and Mary (Golden) Detwiler.
Survivors include; Two Sons, David Wesley Horstmeyer of Hannibal, MO, James Dru Utterback (Melanie) of Perry, MO; Daughter, Marcy Akright (John) of Hannibal, MO; Sister, Amber Nutter of Quincy, IL; Three Granddaughters, Kari Williams (Scott) of Monroe City, MO, Lana McPike (Wayne Jr.) of Hannibal, MO, Brook Rogers (Jon) of Moscow Mills, MO; Four Grandsons, Korylee Horstmeyer (Megan) of Monroe City, MO, Matthew Utterback of Perry, MO, Alan Haden (Stacy) of Columbia, MO, Jared Akright (Courtney) of Frankford, MO; 14 Great-grandchildren, and 3 Great Great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Mary; First husband, Fred Horstmeyer, and her second husband Albert Lee Utterback.
In her earlier years Betty worked at Western Printing Company. She was a fabulous cook and having meals ready at the late hours for her family on the farm was just one of the many ways she showed her love and commitment. She loved sweet treats and had an extra passion for ice cream. Betty also enjoyed sewing, studying her bible, and watching Charles Stanley. She supported Shiloh Christian Ranch and was an auxiliary member of the Perry VFW. Betty came to know the Lord and was saved in the summer of 2001 at the young age of 70! She was a living testimony that hope and salvation is available to all no matter the path or the age. John 3:16
