Raymond Denler, 88, of Hannibal, MO, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Luther Manor Nursing Center.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Ronn Pashia will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Raymond was born on November 15, 1928, in Secor, IL, the son of Lloyd and Leola Fry Denler. He was previously married to Viola Woosley. He later married Gretta Estes on July 3, 1971, and she survives.
His parents; a brother, Richard Denler; and a sister, Marilyn Woosley preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons; John (Ellen) Denler of Pekin, IL and Ron (Nicole) Denler of Quincy, IL; one daughter, Connie (Patrick) Hall of Maroa, IL; a stepson, Jerry Estes of New London, MO; a stepdaughter, Detsyl (Larry) Welch of Hannibal, MO; three sisters, JoAnn Coleman of New London, MO, Doris Jean Todd of Carlock, IL and Phyllis Knapp of Palmyra, MO; 19 grandchildren, Missy Estes, Melodie Yoder, Marlene Rodenbaugh, Wes Lewis, Sean Hall, Mathew Hall, Casey Welch, Colin Welch, Joey Welch, Laura Fox, Katherine Denler, Emily Calcaire, Robert Denler, Brie Denler, Angelina Denler, Ashley Denler, Waylon Cook, Jacob Cook and Brandi Lionberger; and 14 great grandchildren
Pallbearers are Casey Welch, Colin Welch, Sean Hall, Mathew Hall, Robert Denler and Jeff Hinds.
Raymond was a member and a board member for over 20 years at Saverton Ilasco United Methodist Church. He was also a board member of the Ralls County Water District #1 for 20 years. Raymond was a Union electrician and worked on many commercial airports and government projects in the United States. He retired from the US Army corps of Engineers at the Saverton lock and dam number 22. Raymond's kindness and talents were seen in his willingness and ability to lend a helping hand to whoever needed him. But Raymond's real passion was his family and the time he was able to spend with them.
