Professionally, Mary worked as a Home Health Aide and enjoyed caring for people in their home.

Mary always had a smile to share along with a story. In fact, she was known for telling some unbelievable and crazy stories that to the dismay of many, usually proved to be rooted in truth. She loved Christmas time and all the decorating that came with it. She would have a tree in every room in the house and poinsettias everywhere. She also loved birds and had an uncanny ability to be able to mimic their song. She could spend hours outside in long conversations with the birds, that would in turn, sing back to her in response. This may have come from her long time bird companion, a feisty blue and gold macaw named, Peter Jerome. She loved to sing, do puzzles, watch animal planet and old western’s, fishing on the Mississippi, and collecting stuffed animals and porcelain dolls. She loved to cook and bake, and she was great at it. She always made sure everyone was fed when they came to visit and loved teaching others to cook too. Most of all, Mary loved having visitors and would talk to anyone that would listen about how proud she was of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an absolutely remarkable lady and will be missed by many.

Mary was very proud of her Native American heritage (CHEROKEE) and she enjoyed their culture. To honor that heritage memorial contributions may be made to the Native American Heritage Association online at https://www.naha-inc.org/donate/
