Marie M. Lewis, 87, of Hannibal, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:13 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Justin Mosher will officiate. Burial will follow at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Marie was born on January 12, 1928, in Carrol County, MO, the daughter of Stewart Davidson and Edith Marian Smith Lynch. She married Wayne E. Lewis on March 21, 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 12, 2010.
Her parents, one daughter, Edie Rice, and one brother, Dudley Lynch also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Doug) Turpin, Ruth (Richard) Barrett and Jane (Rich) Griffen; two nieces, Diana Jurena and Jody (Lou) Pusch; one brother, Harold Lynch; one sister, Flora Ella McEntire; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Marie graduated from Carrollton High School. She received an Associate of Arts degree from HLG College; a Bachelor of Arts degree from Culver - Stockton College; a Masters of Music from the University of Missouri and completed additional studies at Iowa State and North East Missouri State. She was a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs; Missouri Music Educators Association; Music Educators National Conference and the American Choral Directors Association. She taught in the Hannibal Public school district and at HLG for many years.
Pallbearers are Will Daniel, Heath Barrett, Stephen Barrett, Joseph Griffen, Ben Spurgeon and Aaron Poage. Honorary Pallbearers are Jeremy Jurena, Patrick Merritt and Adam Jones.
Marie was been a member of the Fifth Street Baptist Church of Hannibal.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
