Joyce Ann Lewis, age 72, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 11:23 pm Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at her home after bravely living with appendix cancer since December 23, 2023 .

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Tabernacle Of Praise. Pastor Kevin Coates will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

A visitation celebrating Joyce's life will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Tabernacle Of Praise.

She was born in Springfield, Illinois at Memorial Hospital, the daughter of James “Earl” Moffitt and Gladys Proffit Moffitt. She married the love of her life, Cletus Lewis, September 12, 1970 in Ashland, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband and two children: Jay Lewis (Nikki) of Frankford, MO and Melissa Coates (Kevin) of Hannibal, MO, and seven grandchildren: Amanda Lehr (Rob), Cletus “Tyler” Allen (Andi), Trevor Allen (Chase), Victoria “Shiloh” Allen, Wyatt Lewis, Elijah and Abigael Coates. Five great grandchildren: Oliver Lehr, Jameson Lehr, Casey Allen, Charli Allen, and Colbi Joyce Allen.

Nine brothers: Tom Moffitt (Rita), Mike Moffitt, Jim Moffitt, Joe Moffitt (Kathy), Marty Moffitt (Barb) David Moffitt (Martha), Gary Moffitt (Cheryl), Ron Aten, and Richard Aten (Maxine).

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Janice Hahn, brother Gene Moffitt, brother-in-law Sam Hahn and sister-in-law Terry Moffitt, nephew Phillip Hahn.

Joyce enjoyed going to resale shops, watching Hallmark movies and she loved doing things for her family, especially cooking their favorite meals. Her highlight of the year was all her family getting together at Christmas.

She loved her church family at Tabernacle of Praise and Kinderhook House of Prayer.

Joyce was energetic, positive, full of life and she loved people. She could make friends just standing in line at a store.

She will be missed by her family, friends, and her beloved dog Bandit.
