James Edgar Buswell, 68, of Emden, MO, died at 1:50 a.m., on Monday, July 4, 2016, at his home in Emden, MO.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016, at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Pastor Milton Baumgardner will officiate.
James was born on August 15, 1947, in Fort Worth, TX, the son of Amos Edgar and Edna Beatrice Nilley Buswell. He married Ida Elizabeth Brummer on September 24, 1973, and she preceded him in death on September 14, 2008.
His parents and two brothers, Dennis and Douglas Buswell, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by a stepson; Terry (Cindy) Brummer; two sisters, Ruth Ann Jarrell and Viola Adams; two grandchildren, Tori Brummer and Ashley Long; a great grandchild, Elizabeth Long; and a significant other since 2012, Mary Snarr.
James served in the Army during the Vietnam conflict as a turbo helicopter and aircraft mechanic. He received the Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with five Bronze Service Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal (1960 Bar).
