George "Jake" Misner

George "Jake" Misner, age 92, of New London, MO passed away at 7:18 pm Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Grand View Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Young will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation celebrating Jake's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Grand View Funeral Home before services. 

Jake was born on November 29, 1932, to the late George and Gladys Clark Misner. He married Jennie O'Keefe on January 19, 1952.

He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Clark of New London and Vickie Misner of New London; two Granddaughters Misty Gauch (Otis) of New London and Destiny Pease (Garrett) of Vandalia, MO; three great grandchildren, Brittany Buckwalter (Ryan), Shane Beer, and Madison Swank, and three great great grandsons, Brayden Beer, Christopher Rayl, and Halen Rayl.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jennie, a son, Ernie, two brothers, Charley and Bob, and a sister, Patsy Foutes.

Jake worked at Misner Construction with his brother Bob for many years. There wasn't much they couldn't build or repair. He loved playing softball when he was younger and was instrumental in getting the Khoury League started in New London when his children were small. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and just being outside.

Jake was the first and foremost a family man and the epitome of how great and unselfish it is to put your family first. He was devoted to his wife, as they had been married for almost 70 years at the time of her passing in 2021. He will be missed dearly but will remain forever in our hearts.

Pallbearers will be Otis Gauch, Tim Clark, Donnie McIntosh, Ryan Buckwalter
