Franklin D Farrell, age 91, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 12:20 am Monday, April 15, 2024, at Beth Haven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Grand View Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Dexheimer will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.

A visitation celebrating Franklin’s life will be held at 10:00 am until 11:00 am Thursday April 25, 2024 at the Grand View Funeral Home.

Franklin was born on November 17, 1932, in Hannibal, Missouri the son of Perry and Nellie Farrell.

He was united in marriage to Betty L Farrell (Stallcup) in 1957, at the United Methodist Church in Hannibal.

Survivors include his Wife, Betty. Two Sons, David Farrell of Hannibal, MO, Darin Farrell of St Louis, MO; Six Grandsons, Phillip Farrell, Kevin Farrell, Matt Farrell, Jacob Myers, Josh Myers, Daniel Farrell; Granddaughter, Danielle Snedeker. And nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Perry and Nellie, Two Brothers, Joe Farrell and Clifford Farrell; Two Sisters, Mary Farrell and Virginia Farrell.

Franklin graduated from Hannibal High School and went on to join the Army. He served in Korea and Germany.

Professionally Franklin worked as a Lineman and later was an installation technician for South Western Bell/AT&T.

Franklin was a member of the Emmett J Shields American Legion Post #55, and the VFW.

Franklin was a humble, hardworking, dedicated, and honorable man who took great care of his family. He deeply loved his wife Betty and did all he could to provide for her and his boys so that they never had to go without. In his retirement years he did not remain idle. He loved to fix things, jerryrigging them so that they worked, with a flare for the inventive. He loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren, and loved taking people out to lunch, always paying the bill. He also spent year singing gospel music in area nursing homes.
