Dorothy Ann Fleming

Dorothy Ann Fleming, age 82, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, in Hannibal, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Grand View Funeral Home & Burial Park Reverand Scott Hawes will officiate.

A visitation celebrating Dorothy will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Grand View Funeral Home & Burial Park.

Dorothy was born on April 28, 1943, in Perry, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Whelan and Marie Whelan (Thomas). She was united in marriage to Jesse E. Fleming in Perry, MO, on June 3, 1961.

She is survived by her son, Daryle Fleming and wife Julie of Hawaii; her daughter, Tracy Yakes and husband Yancy of Hannibal, Missouri; her siblings, David Gene Whelan and wife Pat of Columbia, Missouri, Rita Rife of Sedalia, Missouri, and Judy Mann and husband Phil of Monroe City, Missouri; her six grandchildren, Leslie, Shane, Melissa, Rachael, Sharon, and Jeff; and her eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marie Whelan; her husband, Jesse E. Fleming Sr.; her son, Jesse E. Fleming Jr.; and her brother, Billy Joe Whelan.

Dorothy devoted 55 years of her life to her profession as a dog groomer, becoming the first in Hannibal, Missouri. Her dedication, skill, and reliability made her not only a trusted professional but also a dear friend to many.

Dorothy was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord and lived her life guided by that devotion. She found great joy in family gatherings, making homemade noodles and baking her signature cookies, spending time with her family, where her love and spirit were most evident.

Pallbearers will be Yancy Yakes, Shane Yakes, Phil Mann, Aaron DeBruin, Ian McClain and Dawson Yakes.
