Doris was born January 4th, 1932 in Ilasco, Missouri to Nell and Walter Tatman. She was the youngest of 10 children. She grew up in Hannibal, Missouri and graduated from Hannibal High School in 1949. She married John W. Tepper in 1951 who preceded her in death. While employed as a civil servant, she held several positions and ended her long career as secretary to the director of Aeromedical Services, R.L. Thompson Regional Hospital, Carswell AFB in 1988. She performed volunteer time as secretary to two youth bowling leagues, clerical duties at R.L. Thompson Hospital due to deployment of medical personnel during Desert Storm, volunteered at Ridglea Hills, Mary Louise Phillips and Westpark Elementary Schools, past Treasurer of Ridglea Hills Addition Neighborhood Association, and Block Captain of the Neighborhood Watch Program. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 164 Lake Charles, Louisana, Hannibal Southside Christian Church, and attended Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two children, son John M. Tepper and daughter, Cynthia Tepper Melenric, both of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Tepper and Lauren and Michael Melenric; special niece, Joyce Benzenhoefer and husband, David; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Tatman, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her five sisters and four brothers.
