Charles Thomas "Tom" Whitley

Charles Thomas "Tom" Whitley, age 82, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away at 2:06 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Monroe City Manor.

Tom's family will host a memorial service at Life Redeemed United Pentecostal Church at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Grand View Funeral Home.

Tom was born on February 4, 1944, in Monkey Run, Missouri, the son of Murty Alfred Whitley, Jr. and Catherine "Kate" Irene (Rouse) Whitley.

Survivors include his daughter, Leisa Smith (Darin) of Hannibal, Missouri; nephew, Kelly Whitley (Karen M.) of Atlanta, Missouri; and several extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Milton Eugene Whitley.

Tom worked as a carpenter and in the printing industry before his retirement.

Tom was a giving and generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was especially supportive of charitable causes. He enjoyed fishing, watching car races, camping, spending time outdoors, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.

His faith was an important part of his life. Tom enjoyed attending Life Redeemed United Pentecostal Church and looked forward to being at church each week whenever he was able.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grand View Funeral Home to assist the family with cremation expenses.
