Carolyn Sue Barnett, 79, of Hannibal, MO, died at 10:07 a.m. on May 21, 2019, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, MO.
Visitation will be May 24, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Jeff Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal, MO.
Carolyn was born on Monday, November 13, 1939, in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of James and Georgia Alexander Hetheriton. Carolyn married Imants Smits in 1966 and he passed away in 1978. She married John Barnett III in 1985 and he passed away in 2012.
Her parents and two brothers, Robert Hickman and James Hetheriton, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, John (Kim) Barnett; two daughters, Missa (Kevin) Gerveler and Dawn (Kane) McGlothlin; seven grandchildren, Ashley Lay, Abbey Gerveler, Kenady McGlothlin, Makayla McGlothlin, Kelsey Gerveler, Evan Barnett and Blake Barnett; one great grandchild, Lila Lay; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved to sew and cross stitch. She was also fond of square dancing.
