Betty L. Brown, age 89, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 4:30 pm Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Luther Manor Nursing Home in Hannibal, MO.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Grand View Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Thrower will officiate. Burial will follow in the Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation celebrating Betty's life will be 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday at the Grand View Funeral Home.
Betty was born on January 22, 1932, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Isiac and Estella Mae (Bocker) Hawn
She was married to William Brown and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Krigbaum and husband Wes of Hannibal, MO; son, George Rouse of Cleveland, OH; sister, Shirley Watts of Hannibal, MO; grandchildren, Stacy Glascock (Ed) of Hannibal, MO, Lance Krigbaum (Brenda) of Hannibal, MO, Jason Krigbaum (Ashley) of Hannibal, MO and Kristen Hanlin (Matt) of Quincy, IL; sixteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren with one on the way and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Robert Nelson, and brother, Junior Hawn.
Betty graduated from Hannibal High School and worked most of her life as a homemaker providing for her family.
Betty was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church were she actively sang in the choir until her health wouldn't allow her to do so anymore. Betty enjoyed all types of music and was always edger to attend area musical events around Hannibal. Gospel and Elvis were some of Betty's favorite music to listen to. Cooking was another trait that Betty was known for, she was known for making the best Goulash around by her family and friends. In her free time she enjoyed playing Bingo at the Hannibal Nutrition Center and playing cards with her family, she was exceptionally good at playing "Kings in the Corner." Betty loved to wear her Heartland Auto Body& Towing shirt, to support her grandson's business that she was very proud of.
Betty's biggest love was her family, the time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren are memories they will cherish forever.
Pallbearers will be Nick Glascock, Austin Krigbaum, Dylan Krigbaum, Odin Glascock, Cody Glascock, Andrew Krigbaum and T.J. Hanlin
Memorial contributions may be made to Hannibal Nutrition Center, in care of Grand View Funeral Home.
