Alfred Bryce Karcher, 92, formerly of Hannibal, MO, died at 9:50 p.m. on April 20, 2019, at his home in Fulton, MO.
Visitation will be April 25, 2019, from 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., with Father Basil Eruo officiating. Burial will follow at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
Alfred was born on April 10, 1927, in Monroe county, MO, the son of Phillip John and Burnice Hughes Karcher. Alfred married Margret Hill on May 15, 1948 at the Monroe City Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She survives.
His parents; one brother, Warren Karcher; and a grandchild, Donald Eugene Karcher, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Garry Wayne Karcher and Dennis Eugene (Tammy) Karcher; four grandchildren, Paula Christine Warwick, Denise Ellen Handlon, Cathy Ann Harrison, and Kevin Karcher; eight great grandchildren, Tim Handlon, Elizabeth Handlon, Ella Karcher, Amanda Karcher, Rebecca Karcher, Joseph Karcher, Christopher Warwick and Cheyene Warwick; and three great great grandchildren.
Alfred served in the US Army for several years after his high school graduation. He worked at the Carnation Evaporated Milk Plant in Los Angeles, CA for the next 35 years. Upon retirement he moved back to the Hannibal area, before moving to Fulton, MO to be close to Garry and his family.
Alfred liked working his garden and home projects.
