Vernace Ihrig Obituary
Vernace M. Ihrig, 91, formerly of Hannibal, MO, died at 11:40 p.m. on June 23, 2019, at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO.
Visitation will be June 28, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Neal VanNatta officiating. Burial will follow at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
Vernace was born on January 9, 1928, in Mountain View, MO, the daughter of Lowell P. Sr. and Edna Tranbarger Glascock. She married Captain William M. Ihrig, a jet fighter pilot, on December 26, 1948, and he preceded her in death.
Her parents; two brothers, Lowell P. Glascock Jr. and Larry D. Glascock; and a son, Michael W. Ihrig, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son, Kevin William Ihrig; a daughter, Billie Marie Pearl; a sister, Shirley (BG) Brown; three grandchildren, Darin A. Pearl, Eric S. (Samantha) Pearl and Brandon W. Pearl; and four great grandchildren.
Vernace member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church of St. Charles and Gold Star Wives of America. She was an artist, a cook and loved to fish and was able to travel all over the world.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
