Linda Lou Chandler

Linda Lou Chandler, 83, passed away on July 7, 2023, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.

She was born August 15, 1939, in Warren County, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil Leo and Opal Belle (Damitz) Price. She married Leanelle Hanson in May 1959. She later married Donald W. Chandler, Sr. on October 5, 1990. Together they celebrated 30 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 29, 2021.

Linda is survived by her sons, Terry Hanson and Corey (Andrea) Hanson; stepchildren, Janet (Mark) Bowen, Susan (David) Miller, and Donald (Sheri) Chandler, Jr.; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Price and Ronald Price; as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; daughter-in-law, Bernice Hanson; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jay McGahey; and sisters-in-law, Frances Price and Mary Lou Price.

Linda was a homemaker while her sons were young. She later furthered her education earning her GED and then associate degree from Carl Sandburg College. She enjoyed many years of working in childcare.

Linda and Donald shared a faith in God and love of traveling. They spent several years traveling around the country with their RV visiting family and numerous parks.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
