Don Atkins Obituary

Donald Paul Atkins, 90, of Hannibal, MO, died at 12:05 p.m. on June 24, 2019, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, MO.

Graveside service will be June 28, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO. Dr. Tom Lemons will officiate.

Don was born on September 21, 1928, in Hannibal, MO, the son of James Oney and Mabel Fountain Atkins. He married Ann Shelburne September 4, 1948. She survives.

His parents; one son, Lester Paul Atkins; and one son-in-law, Sam Doran and one brother, Loren (Betty) Atkins preceded him in death.

He is survived by one son Lee (Jill) Atkins; four daughters, Linda (Gary Riney) Daniels, Laura (David) Zeiger, Lou Doran and Lisa (Carl) Ball; one brother, James (Mary) Atkins; 13 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Don was a lifelong farmer and formerly a part owner of Prestige Realty in Hannibal, MO. He was also a member of Hydesburg Methodist Church and later of First Methodist Church in Hannibal and the Hannibal Lions Club. Donald was a devoted man of God, husband, father and grandfather.
