Clarence Bates, 71, of Hannibal, MO, died at 12:40 p.m. on September 12, 2019, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, MO.
Visitation will be September 17, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. The funeral service will be held September 18, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Grand View Funeral Home, with Pastor Stacie Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
Clarence was born on October 30, 1947, in Hannibal, MO, the son of Frank and Susie Green Bates.
His parents; two brothers, Danny Bates and Frankie Bates; and a sister, Anna Anderson, preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Darla Bates and Carol Bates.
Clarence worked for the Atlanta Building Company until his retirement. He loved old cars and pencil drawing. He was a very kind and easy going guy.
Pallbearers will be Keith Major, Logan Gilker, Preston Barger, Robert Gilker, Jimmy Owens, Issack Edger, Robbie Newlon, and J.C. Justin Semkin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrea Bates, Amanda Bates, Slaidder Manuel, Daltyon Bates, Jaydyn Barger and Adam Anderson.
