Bradley Eugene Nelson

June 18, 1955 — September 21, 2023

Bradley Eugene Nelson, age 68, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 9:54 am Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the Grand View Funeral Home. Chaplain Mark Burkey will officiate.

Visitation celebrating Bradley's life will be held 4:00 pm until the time of the service Tuesday at the Grand View Funeral Home.

Bradley was born on June 18, 1955, in Hannibal, MO the son of Stanley Eugene and Mary ( Foglesong) Nelson.

Survivors include three daughters, Jenny Nelson of Hannibal, MO, Brandy Miller (Mike) of Hannibal, MO and Katie Sanders of Palmyra, MO; two sisters, Karen Powell (Pat) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Karla Sparks of Archie, Mo; one brother, Carl Nelson (Judy) of Bettendorf, IA;  five grandchildren,  Blake Golden (Karli), Brooklyn Golden, Colton Sanders (Jaylie), Sophie Sanders (Elijah) and Drake Nelson; one step granddaughter, Shelbilyn Miller (Jacob) and one great grandson, Talon Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by a niece, Brittany Powell; nephew, Joseph Gibbons; great niece Breighlen Sams and step grandson, Dawson Miller.

Mr. Nelson previously worked as a Firefighter for the Hannibal Fire Department and later worked as a Correctional Officer at the Northeast Correctional Center in Bowling Green, retiring as a Sergeant.

Bradley was a simple man that enjoyed fishing and camping in the great outdoors with his family.  Mr. Nelson was an avid bowler and enjoyed coaching baseball and softball.  When it come to sports, Bradley was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, the St. Louis Blues and anything WWE.  Mr. Nelson was also known for playing Taps for military honors for numerous Veterans over the years.

Bradley biggest love was his family, he cherished his family and was always there to support them.  He was the jokester of the family and was always teasing his children and grandchildren.  One of his legacy's his family, especially his grandchildren will remember him by was being the best Santa.
